The Bangles were right; it’s just another manic Monday. Last year I made a list of 5 things to do on Monday morning. It’s my start-the-week-off-right ritual. These few little tricks help me get out of a Monday morning funk.
If you find yourself in the middle of a manic Monday, or you’re looking for ways to start your week off right, follow these 5 simple steps.
Step 1. Let’s get dressed!
Get dressed all the way down to shoes that tie! Not sure why there’s magic in shoes that tie, but I promise, it makes a difference in my productivity.
Step 2. Do this one cleaning task.
Start a load of laundry by gathering up dirty clothes as you leave your room! This act alone will make you feel like you are already on the road to success.
Step 3. Play some jams.
Add music. “Alexa, play my motivation playlist on Spotify!” This step is crucial — I have a playlist for almost everything. Click here to check out my playlists and follow along on Spotify!
Step 4. Dance it out.
Sip on some coffee and dance a little. I find this step just boosts my mood in ways I don’t see coming. It’s impossible to be in a funk and be dancing at the same time. Try it!
Step 5. Get things out of your head and onto paper.
Grab your planner and make sure you have a spot for it in every room. Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards the Day on One Page planner because I have so much going on.
Think of your planner like your phone — you know where you put your phone down in each room. Having your planner nearby to brain dump, jot down notes, and check your to-dos is essential.
