Summer Packing List Printable
David and I have been planning our summer for months now. Actually, I shouldn’t say planning as much as organizing. We’ve taken stock of the pace and the rhythm we want for our family in this season, allowing for adventures and rest, and have outlined what is hopefully not too much, but not too little.
All this organization doesn’t help with one teeny tiny chore: packing for a family of five. Whether is a sleep-away camp or camping out as a family, heading to the beach or the mountains or a theme park, or even exploring a new city, packing for our entire family is a CHORE.
I’m a seasoned traveler at this point. I literally can survive for a week with one pair of white jeans, a stick of deodorant, and three t-shirts. While I always love returning home to my stuff, my skincare routines, and books, I pride myself on my ability to pack light.
Teaching my kids to pack light? That’s a whole other thing.
My kids are finally at the ages where I want them to start thinking independently, and that’s where this handy packing list comes in. I hand them the list—they pack. I still have to check and make sure they’ve actually gotten everything, but a little forgetfulness every now and then will teach them to pay more careful attention next time.
