Dream Shopping
There is a store in Colorado called Gorsuch. They have two locations: one in Aspen, and the other in Vail. When I say I cannot find the words to explain the emotion this store evokes in me, I am not exaggerating. It’s the first place I head to when walking through Vail Village, if we are lucky enough to go skiing that year, or if we are there during the summer.
The store is more old school than it is preppy: old oriental rugs, imported French, Swedish, and European antiques. They sell incredible sterling silver belt buckles with giant chunks of exquisite turquoise, and paired with super-sexy jeans and incredible French lace shirts. They sell Burberry ski coats and Scandinavian sweaters. They sell cowboy boots, imported china and crystal, and have a home department slathered in weathered woods, luscious silks, pewter table ware, and antlers. I cannot even begin to tell you how at home all this makes me feel.
Be warned: the prices are not for the faint of heart. My best attempts to acquire such luxury have occurred via eBay.
