A Sunday In The Life
My days are starting to run together. I sat on the couch tonight, exhausted, and looked at the clock. I was falling asleep, and it was only 9:00 p.m. My husband and I laugh now that 9:00 used to be the hour at which we started considering what we would do for that evening. Now it’s more likely that by the time the clock has struck 9:00, one of us is completely sound asleep.
Such is the life of parents with three kids under the age of four. SO glamorous.
Today began with me working on our meal plan for the week, and then a round of errands. We hit the grocery store as a family. It takes two carts. The boys ride in one, and Charley gets the other. By the time we were home and groceries were unloaded, everyone was starving and we dove into spaghetti and meatballs for Sunday lunch.
After that, Bubba needed his first haircut. Two things I feel like I have to explain on this: 1) we call my second son Bubba, because his brother can’t pronounce “Brother”. 2) I feel absolutely no need to pay $25 for a barber to give an eighteen-month-old a hair cut, which consisted of nothing but three snips of the scissors, so I did it myself.
While I was at it, I also attempted, after some hard core googling, to cut Kiddo’s hair. I didn’t take too much off, so that I can hopefully refine the technique over time. Savings of $25 per kid, per month = $600 per year.
Holy moly. I just blogged about meal planning, how I’m cutting my kids hair, trying to save money. I made dinner in the slow cooker, and I finished the evening by trying out a couple of cleaning tricks I found on Pinterest.
I am not turning into a mommy blogger. I am not, I am not, I am not. (Not that there is anything wrong with mommy bloggers, but having spent the majority of my career as a single business woman, only to now find myself the mother of three–well, let’s just say–I’m still adjusting. Any advice in parenting from the pros is welcome!)
I just glanced at my Day Designer, to check my “Top Three” for the weekend. It says: meal plan, laundry, blog. Done, done, and done. And there is no use in apologizing for a completed to-do list!
Don’t forget: if you’re interested in getting a Day Designer for yourself, enter the giveaway for a chance to win one of THREE! Winners will be chosen this coming Wednesday, September 26th!
It sounds like you are adjusting to life with three little ones in a splendid way. 🙂 I can’t wait to see Charley! I’ve had it on my list forever it seems (at least since she was born – ha!) but we’ve been dealing with sick kids for such a long time. I know she’s beautiful!
I know you’re incredibly busy these days, but I love reading about your world these days!

Aw, Liz, thank you! xoxo!
