Perfect Bed Styling Hack

My mom taught me how to make a bed and I think it’s one of the best things she’s ever taught me. Sliding into a well-made bed at the end of a long day is one of my favorite feelings! Is there anything better?

I’ve realized bed-making isn’t a skill taught in all households so I thought I’d share a tip that will immediately transfer your bed into a perfectly styled bed! Truly, I love styling a bed more than I even like making a bed.

So, here’s my one major, perfect bed styling hack! The flat sheet goes face down with the pretty side towards you (when you’re in the bed). It might feel counter-intuitive but the pretty side goes down towards the bed.

Let’s say you have a floral sheet set. Start with a fitted sheet, then add the flat sheet with the flowers face down. Add your blanket, comforter, or duvet cover. Then, turn the top of the flat sheet over the comforter to display the floral pattern. Viola! Now you see the flowers even with the bed made!

Bonus! There’s one more important tip my mom shared with me! Make sure your flat sheet matches the dust ruffle and shams. Those are the English family bed making tips!

Use these bed styling hacks and your bed will look perfect, ready to hop right into at night time! I can’t prove that a perfectly styled bed makes for a better night’s sleep, but I also can’t not prove that a perfectly styled bed makes for a better night’s sleep!
