Setting up your 2023 planner

December 27, 2022 Whitney English 1 Comment

This week between Christmas and New Year’s is the perfect time to set yourself up for success in 2023. Even if your plans for the week consist of staying in your pajamas and not setting your alarm, dedicating the time to setting up your new planner will help you start 2023 off feeling organized.

Haven’t purchased your 2023 planner yet? Our shop will be open on December 28th ONLY for you to grab one before the New Year! After that, the shop is back on Christmas break until January 2nd.

If you already have your planner, go ahead and block out an hour or two this week to get it set up for 2023. I love to cozy up with a cup of coffee (or some hot chocolate), my favorite playlist, and make sure I have all of my favorite pens ready to go! You’ll want your old planner, your new planner, and any dates you need to transfer into your planner (like the school calendar, big work events, and vacations). I also like to have my computer accessible so I can reference any important events in email, and add events to my digital calendar (yes—I use both!). The more you add to your planner now, the more thankful future-you will be. If you know you need to call the doctor to set up well-checks for your kids two months before their birthdays, go ahead and find the appropriate week to write a reminder. If birthdays are always sneaking up on you, and this is the year you are determined to get ahead of the game, go ahead and plan out when you’ll start shopping and write it in your planner. Don’t rely on your memory—write it down. I promise that six months from now, you’ll be so glad you did.

If you want a step-by-step guide, you can purchase my three-page “How to Set Up Your New Planner” printable for $3. It’s full of checklists and tips to guide you through the process of getting your new planner ready to go!

But here’s my number one biggest piece of advice: don’t be scared of messing up your planner. Your planner is meant to be a daily companion—that means it’s going to get some scratch marks and scuffs along the way. Things are going to get crossed out and moved around, and that’s okay. Yes, it looks so pristine and pretty right now, but planners are meant to be used! And, don’t forget about our Planner Replacement Guarantee: if something happens to your planner, as long as we still have that planner in stock we’ll replace it for free—you just pay shipping. So if there’s a coffee spill, a child who decides your planner looks like a great coloring book, or you accidentally run it over with your car: stay calm and email a photo of the damage to hello@whitneyenglish.com!

Now, go ahead and block out that time to set up your 2023 planner! I’d love for you to snap a photo or two and tag me over on Instagram. And, if you really want to get 2023 off to a great start, don’t forget to sign up for HEART Goals 2023!

Can’t wait to start with my new WE planners! Except family is in town, so it’ll have to be on Jan 1st and 2nd. Happy New Year!
