two things
First of all, New York is filthy. I’ve been doing a ton of walking, in my flip flops, and every evening my heels and ankles are black with grime. It’s not like I’m stepping in muddy puddles, or giant piles of trash—it’s merely this messy city. I bought a foot scrubber, and my heels are almost raw now, but I can’t go to bed with gross feet—I just can’t. Tomorrow is major pedicure day, and possibly walking-shoe-buying-day.
Secondly, I love this class. I just finished the homework for last week, and started reading the book for next week. It’s all completely up my very analytical alley, and I’m thoroughly relishing every moment of dissection. The books are about design, written from more of a business standpoint than an aesthetic viewpoint. It’s challenging me to think about the way things in my life are designed—and not just products and interiors, either. But how is my system for organization designed? How is the system for cooking in my kitchen designed? How is the business designed? If you start looking at it like everything can be designed and everyone can be a designer, it changes everything.
That’s all I had to say for the evening. I did some laundry, so I have clean undies and clean sheets (to put my clean feet in). Night night.
