Making a Unicorn Cake for a Special Birthday
Last weekend we celebrated my daughter’s birthday! When we asked her how she wanted to celebrate this year (birthdays are hard in a pandemic, am I right?), she stated she really wanted a unicorn cake. Of course! What little girl DOESN’T want a unicorn cake?
So when my special little girl requested a unicorn cake I turned to Pinterest, obviously! I love Pinterest so much. Are we friends over there? If not, join me and following along on Pinterest! I’m pinning plans for our forever home, meal planning, interior design inspiration, fashion, and much more. How many hours do I spend on Pinterest in any given week? I.don’t.want.to.know!
Because this mama is busy, I opted for my never-fail cake recipe: I picked up cakes from Costco and frosting from Target. It’s called balance, friends! Then I used the “how-to-unicorn-ify” cake guidance from Pinterest and got to work.
Make a unicorn cake, they said. It will be easy, they said. These pictures really showcase just how stressed I was — LOOK AT THAT CONCENTRATION. Ha! I’m just glad it didn’t turn out like one of the cakes on the Netflix show “Nailed It!” Did you guys watch that show? I would CRY laughing.
I’m adding “make a unicorn cake” to the list of Things We Do for the Ones We Love! Our little girl (and her brothers!) loved it so this mama’s heart was happy.
How are you celebrating birthdays and important milestones this year? Have you made any fun cakes? Hop over to Instagram and let me know on this post!
