10 Minutes to Start Your Day Right
It’s a slow Monday morning over here. I’m getting ready for a podcast interview to promote my new book, A More Beautiful Life. And we’re playing catch up from a wonderful, but busy weekend.
How do you get motivated in the morning? Do you have a morning routine that gets you off on the right track? Or are you a hop out of bed and take the world by storm kind of person?
If you don’t need any morning motivation, please tell me your secrets! But if you’re like me, and need some help getting started in the morning, this blog post is for you.
Whether it’s a manic Monday (or any other day of the week, quite frankly), sometimes you need a few tricks to help you start your day off right.
I have five non-negotiables when I need morning motivation. In 10 minutes or less, my mindset is reset and I feel prepared to start the day.
Here’s how to take 10 minutes to start your day right!
1. Get dressed.
Get dressed all the way down to shoes that tie! There is magic is shoes that try, I promise it makes a difference in my productivity!
2. Start a load of laundry.
Gather up dirty clothes as you leave your room! This act alone will make you feel like you are already on the road to success.
3. Add music.
“Alexa play my motivation playlist on Spotify!” This step is crucial — I have a playlist for almost everything. When that perfect soundtrack hits, my mood is instantly lifted. Come check out some of my playlists on Spotify!
4. Sip on your coffee (or tea, or water!) and dance a little.
I find this step boosts my mood in ways I don’t see coming. It’s impossible to be in a funk and be dancing at the same time. Try it!
5. Grab your planner.
Think of your planner like your phone — you know where you put your phone down in every room, right? Having your planner nearby to brain dump, jot down notes, and check your to-dos is essential.
