Anybody else a fan of palm trees? The ocean? (Me! Me!)

Growing up in Oklahoma, seeing the ocean is a treat. I’ll never forget the first time I saw the ocean. I don’t remember how old I was, but we went to a beach in Charleston when we were on a family vacation. I remember standing on the sandy shore, the wave washing over my toes, and thinking about how vast that water actually was. It’s amazing, mind-boggling, that thing, the ocean.

I’m rather bummed that we won’t get to see any sandy shores or palm trees this summer. I’ve been dreaming of taking my kids on a beach vacation for a while but we’re going to need to save a bit longer for that!
