  2. In a previous life, I was a physician and professor at a medical school. Three years ago, I started homeschooling my five children. This year, I went through chemotherapy and spend a lot of time reflecting on all the choices I have made. Homeschooling was definitely the best decision for myself and our family. It’s not for everyone, but if you are called to it and passionate about it (that’s very important), it is worth it.
    Best books: The Core by Leigh Bortin, The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Bauer, Norms and Nobility by David Hicks, The Latin-Centered Curriculum by Andrew Campbell.
    Best magazine: The Classical Teacher by Memoria Press.
    Anything by CIRCE Institute.
