My Favorite Family-Friendly Recipes
One thing I’ve started tracking during my Weekly Review is meals. Some weeks we follow my Never-Ask-Me-Again-What’s-For-Dinner meal plan to a T. Other weeks we’re more relaxed. We’re in the middle of a renovation project (more on that later, there’s a giant hole in the middle of our dining room) so we’re going with the flow on meal plans lately. There’s no judgment here, you do what works for you and your family!
Sometimes I need a little meal planning inspiration. Last year I shared my favorite cookbooks and those are still a trusted inspiration source. Cookbooks are not only helpful for meal planning and prep, but they’re also beautiful. The gorgeous images inspire me to search for ingredients and try something new.
When I need to lean on tried and true kitchen creations, I fall back on my favorite recipes. These are time-tested and whole family approved – David and the kids also love these!
Plus, they’re perfect for fall baking and cooking!
- Julia Child’s Coq Au Vin
This meal feels decadent and fancy but comes together easily. I always look forward to making Coq Au Vin when the weather cools off and it’s fabulous if you’re hosting guests. - The Pioneer Woman’s “Best Lasagna Ever”
My fellow Oklahoman knows how to make lasagna. This recipe is honestly so easy. I encourage anyone to try it! You can make ahead and freeze if you want to stock your freezer. - Change Your Life Chicken by The Lazy Genius
We absolutely love this Change Your Life chicken recipe. Like most of my favorite recipes, it’s not complicated. You get chicken thighs with skin on, rub them with olive oil and seasoning, and place them on top of a cookie sheet covered in veggies. Green beans and potatoes are a popular side in our house. - Basic Muffin Recipe Ever by me!
If you’ve been around here for long, you know we LOVE muffins around here. They’re a family favorite; the kids absolutely love them. The ingredients are simple and extremely flexible. A lot of the ingredients you might already have at home or be sure to add them to your grocery list so you’re ready to make muffins whenever inspiration strikes! - Grain-Free Cinnamon Rolls from Danielle Walker
Cinnamon rolls might be my love language. Carbs and breakfast treats. Is there anything better? We love this Danielle Walker recipe and make these cinnamon rolls often. I love that it’s grain-free too!
