Meal Planning in Quarantine
Who else is tired of cooking? Who else feels like they have never cooked as many meals or done as many dishes as you have in the last few months? It’s not just the cooking that’s overwhelming, it’s the meal planning and prep! With fewer trips to the grocery store, we have to be strategic and think ahead. Today I’m sharing my simple meal planning system that has been a GAME CHANGER for our family.
Let me introduce you to your new best friend: the Never-Ask-Me-What’s-For-Dinner-Again Meal Planner. It’s a system I created for eliminating unnecessary decisions and saving precious brainpower. Our family eats the same thing for dinner every day of the week. Mondays are meatballs, Tuesdays are tacos, Wednesdays are breakfast, Thursdays are chicken, Fridays are fish, Saturdays are steak and Sundays are soup. When I first shared our family meal plan back in September, you all flipped! You shared such great recipe ideas with me many of which we’ve tried out ourselves! Check out last fall’s full blog post on the weekly meal plan including the full rundown of each night’s meal and recipe ideas.
This is the only meal plan that has stuck for our family. My husband and I know what to shop for and the kids know what’s for dinner. There are a ton of variations with this system. You don’t eat meat? No problem. You or someone you cook for has dietary restrictions? Build those into your plan. CLICK HERE to download the free meal planner now! Print it out and keep it in a central spot in your home so anyone in your family can answer the question, “what’s for dinner?”
My hope is this takes one thing off of your plate (pun intended!) for the upcoming week. I’ve done the work for you so give it a try. I’d love to see your meal planner filled out — snap a pic and show me what’s cooking in your house this week! Make sure to tag me @whitneyenglish so I can see your post!
I showed Instagram how I’m meal planning for the week ahead. Watch here! Then grab my FREE Meal Planner Printable. While you’re in the printable shop, grab the Grocery & Pantry List Printable too! Use it to easily make a categorized grocery list and to track what’s in your pantry.
